Privacy Policy

Effective date: July 29, 2026
Last updated: July 29, 2026

This Privacy Policy explains what information Gallegos Plumbing collects when you use our website or contact us, how we use it, who we share it with, and the choices you have. It applies to gallegosplumbing.com and to enquiries you send us through it.

Information We Collect

Information you give us

When you submit a service request, request an estimate, apply for a job, or contact us, we collect what you provide — typically your name, phone number, city, and a description of the plumbing issue. If you apply for a role, we also collect what you choose to send about your experience.

Information collected automatically

When you browse the site we and our analytics providers may collect:

  • Pages you view, links you click, and how long you spend on the site
  • The website, search engine, or advertisement that brought you here
  • Your approximate location, derived from your IP address at city level
  • Device and browser type, screen size, and operating system

Information from phone calls

If you call a number shown on this website, our call analytics provider records which page and which marketing source your call came from, along with the number you dialled, the time, and the call duration. This is how we tell which advertising actually produces work.

Cookies and Similar Technologies

Cookies are small files stored by your browser. We use them in four ways:

  • Strictly necessary — required for the site to function and for security. These cannot be switched off.
  • Analytics — Google Analytics 4, to understand which pages people use and where they run into trouble.
  • Advertising — Google Ads, to measure which advertisements lead to enquiries and to show our advertising to people who have visited the site.
  • Attribution — a first-party record of which search, advertisement, or referring website brought you here, attached to any enquiry you send so we know which marketing is working. This information stays on our own systems.

You can manage analytics and advertising cookies at any time through Your Privacy Choices, linked in the footer of every page. Strictly necessary cookies are not affected by that setting. You can also block or delete cookies in your browser settings, though parts of the site may stop working.

How We Use Your Information

  • To respond to your enquiry, schedule work, and provide plumbing services
  • To contact you about an appointment, a technician's arrival, or an invoice
  • To answer questions and provide customer support
  • To understand how the site is used and improve it
  • To measure our advertising and decide where to spend
  • To keep records required for licensing, warranty, insurance, and tax purposes
  • To detect and prevent fraud, spam, and abuse

How We Share Your Information

We do not sell your personal information for money. We do not sell or share your mobile phone number or your text-message consent with anyone for their own marketing.

We share information with service providers who work on our behalf and are permitted to use it only for that purpose:

  • Our scheduling and job-management system, which holds your appointment and service history
  • Our website and hosting providers
  • Google, for website analytics and advertising measurement
  • Our call analytics provider, for the call information described above
  • Our email and text-message providers, so we can reply to you

We may also disclose information where the law requires it, to protect our rights or someone's safety, or in connection with a sale or transfer of the business.

Advertising cookies work by sharing limited information with Google so that advertising can be measured and targeted. Under California law this can count as "sharing" even though no money changes hands. You can switch it off at any time using Your Privacy Choices.

Your Privacy Choices

You can:

  • Use the Your Privacy Choices link in the footer to turn analytics and advertising cookies on or off
  • Turn on Global Privacy Control in a browser or extension that supports it. We treat that signal as a request to switch off advertising and analytics cookies, and we honour it automatically without you needing to do anything else
  • Opt out of personalised Google advertising through Google's own advertising settings
  • Reply STOP to any text message to stop receiving them
  • Ask us to access, correct, or delete the information we hold about you — see California Privacy Rights below

Do Not Track

Some browsers can send a "Do Not Track" signal. There is no common industry standard for how to respond to it, and this site does not respond to Do Not Track signals. We do honour the Global Privacy Control signal, which is a recognised standard, as described above.

California Privacy Rights

We honour the following requests from California residents, whether or not we are legally required to.

Categories of personal information we collect

  • Identifiers — name, phone number, email address, postal address, IP address
  • Customer records — service history and appointment details
  • Commercial information — services purchased or considered
  • Internet activity — pages viewed, referring source, interactions with the site
  • Geolocation — approximate, city level, from IP address
  • Audio — call detail records for calls to numbers shown on this site
  • Professional information — only if you apply for a job

We collect these from you directly, automatically as you use the site, and from our service providers. We use them for the purposes listed under How We Use Your Information. We do not knowingly collect the personal information of anyone under 16.

Your rights

  • Know what personal information we have collected about you and how we have used and disclosed it
  • Delete the personal information we hold about you, subject to records we must keep for legal, warranty, tax, or licensing reasons
  • Correct inaccurate personal information
  • Opt out of the sharing of your personal information for cross-context behavioural advertising
  • Not be discriminated against for exercising any of these rights. We will not refuse service, change our prices, or reduce the quality of our work because you made a request.

How to make a request

Email info@gallegosplumbing.com with the subject line "Privacy Request", or call our office at (805) 946-1142. Tell us which request you are making.

So that we do not give your information to someone else, we will ask you to confirm details we already hold — usually the phone number and service address associated with your account. We aim to acknowledge requests within 10 business days and to respond within 45 days. If we need longer, we will tell you why.

An authorised agent may submit a request on your behalf with written permission signed by you.

Shine the Light

California's "Shine the Light" law lets California residents ask once a year for a list of the personal information we disclosed to third parties for their own direct marketing in the previous calendar year. We do not currently disclose personal information to third parties for their own direct marketing. To ask, write to info@gallegosplumbing.com with the subject line "Shine the Light Request".

Text Messages

If you give us your mobile number and opt in, we may send you text messages about your appointment and service. Message frequency varies, and message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to any message to opt out, or HELP for help. Consent to receive text messages is not a condition of buying anything from us. Full terms are in our Terms & Conditions.

How Long We Keep Information

We keep enquiries and customer records for as long as needed to provide the service and to meet legal, warranty, insurance, tax, and licensing obligations — for plumbing work this is typically several years, because warranty and liability periods run long after a job is finished. Analytics and advertising information is kept for a shorter period, in line with the settings of the providers we use. When information is no longer needed we delete it or remove anything that identifies you.

Security

We use reasonable administrative and technical measures to protect the information we hold, including encrypted connections and restricted staff access. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Children

This site is intended for adults arranging plumbing work. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 16. If you believe a child has given us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.

Changes to This Policy

If we change this policy we will update the effective date at the top and post the new version here. Significant changes will be flagged on the site. Please check back from time to time.
