Can I install a water softener myself?

The box makes it look simple, but the drain line, bypass valve, and backflow protection are where DIY installs go wrong — and an incorrectly drained softener can contaminate your supply. A licensed install protects both your water and your warranty.

Will a softener make my water taste salty?

No — a properly functioning softener exchanges hardness minerals for a trace of sodium far below taste threshold. If you can taste salt, the system is malfunctioning and needs service.

What are the disadvantages of a whole-house water filter?

Upfront cost, filter media that needs periodic replacement, and a small pressure drop if the system is undersized — which is why we size to your home's actual flow instead of selling one box. Softeners also carry a modest ongoing salt cost. In exchange, your water heater, fixtures, and appliances stop aging ahead of schedule.
